Sadly, the 2012 Palm Springs Event is Canceled

8-min-video-photo saddle_cats bilde_barrel-racing

Due to several unavoidable cicumstances, such as cold windy weather, and the roads from the Interstate closing down due to sand drifts, the 2011 Palm Springs Rodeo lost a significant amount of money and will not return to Palm Springs.

The successful Western Design Expo, however, may be relocated to a major city in the future, along with the great music, art and food that made this event so special.

Our thanks to all who participated, the various charities and service organiations, schools and especially Spa Resort Casino for its years of support.

Here is the 2011 blurb on the event:

Palm Springs once again becomes Cowboy Central in late March. Back in the Hay Days of the mid-20th century, regular Western activities were held to promote Palm Springs and raise money for charities, with rodeo, parades, trail rides, Desert Circus and cowboy balls several times a year. Luminaries such as Gary Cooper, Bob Hope and Frank Bogert rode horses and wore upscale Western duds to glamorous social events.   Now, it is all coming back!

Read below to learn more about the 25-acre Palm Springs WestFest and Rodeo.  It is a Western World's Fair where Old West meets The New West. It's a Fantasy Camp for Cowboys!  During Western Week, March 20-27,  local merchants, visitors and townfolk are encouraged to dress cowboy style and feature special events, sales and specialty items to help create a Cowboy Central environment all over town.
