During Western Week, March 20-27, local merchants are encouraged to dress cowboy style and feature special events, sales and specialty items.
Monday or Tuesday will feature a trail ride out of Smoke Tree Stables with lunch in the canyon. Afterward, a trip to the Spa Resort Casino Hotel to take the waters is a good idea, capped with an evening at the Spa Resort Casino to try your luck. Monday night there may be a barn party at Smoke Tree Stables open to the public, hosted by a charity. Wednesday, Ace Hotel may host a Honky Tonk party in their Commune with live music, dance lessons and BBQ campfire cookout. Thursday is kickoff day at the Renaissance Hotel as the Western Design Expo opens with a celebrity autograph party from 1-6 pm. That evening downtown Palm Springs becomes Western VillageFest with live music, country radio remotes and dancing in the street. Friday, the WestFest opens Noon-10 pm and the rodeo performance is at 6 pm. Western Design Expo is open 11-6 in Renaissance ballroom. Silver Screen festival is in the Mojave Learning Center at Renaissance from 11-5. The Rancho Deluxe fashion show is 3:30 to 5 in the Renaissance pool area.
Saturday, WestFest is dubbed Gene Autry Day and is open 10 am to 10 pm, with rodeo performance at 2 pm. Western Design Expo is open 10-6 in Renaissance ballroom. Silver Screen festival spotlighting Gene Autry is in the Mojave Learning Center at Renaissance from 11-5. Saturday night, a concert by a well-known headliner begins at 7 pm in the rodeo arena.
Sunday, Cowboy Church starts at 10 am and WestFest opens at 11 am, with the Fiesta del Charro rodeo performance at 2 pm. Western Design Expo is open 11-5 in the Renaissance ballroom. The Silver Screen festival is in the Mojave Learning Center at Renaissance from 11-4. WestFest Gates close at 6 pm.

Note: PRCA Rodeo events (Bareback Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Tie Down Roping, Barrel Racing, and Bull Riding) will be held during each rodeo performance, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Mounted Shooting Competition will also be held on each day.
